Do not force anything first
Do not push the broken piece further in and do not try glue or a paperclip. If a little edge still sticks out, you can try carefully with tweezers. If it does not come out at the first attempt, leave it: the deeper the piece goes, the harder it is to get out.
What the locksmith does
With a thin extraction hook we draw the piece out past the pins. Then we test whether the cylinder still turns smoothly. A key often breaks because the cylinder was already stiff or the key was worn. If the cylinder is damaged, we fit a new SKG cylinder straight away, from €89.

Questions about broken key
Can the door still be opened with the piece inside?
If the door is only on the latch, we usually open it first and then remove the piece. If it is double-locked, we work through the cylinder.
